From merino to marine
We used to make knitwear from merino wool, until customers told us the same thing again and again: too delicate, too much hassle, and handwashing? No thank you.
So we went looking for a smarter alternative. Seawool® blends recycled plastic bottles with discarded oyster shells into a fabric that is machine washable, shrink-resistant, soft, temperature-regulating and odour-resistant. Ultra comfy feeling and no more shrunken sweaters.

What is Seawool®?
Seawool® is the next step forward from Merino, not just an alternative to it.
Here's the trick: it's made by combining post-consumer oyster shells with recycled PET and cotton. That sounds unusual, but the result is a fabric that feels just as soft as Merino wool while outperforming it in the ways that actually matter day to day. It's machine washable (no hand-wash babying), itch-free even for people whose skin can't handle fine Merino, and simply more durable over time.
Side by side with Merino, it holds its own or wins on almost every point: both are naturally antibacterial and thermo-regulating, but Seawool gets an extra antibacterial treatment on top, sheds less dust and hair thanks to being anti-static, and - unlike Merino - never itches and lasts longer with wear.
